The MFOI are deeply disturbed by Ben & Jerry’s announcement that they will no longer sell their ice cream in Judea and Samaria, otherwise known as the West Bank, which they choose to call “Occupied Palestinian Territory”. There are numerous land disputes around the world involving countries like China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Russia, Switzerland and even the United States. Singling out the Jewish state with a boycott is definitively anti-Semitic. For a company to launch this prejudicial campaign at a time when antisemitism is proliferating is imminently dangerous to world Jewry. We strongly condemn Ben & Jerry’s decision (and its parent company Unilever) for this divisive, unilateral act and strongly urge those who promote peace and justice to find an alternative ice cream.
